  Turkish Rice Recipe 

Ingredients:

- 1 cup basmati rice

- 2 cups water

- 2 tablespoons oil

- 1 onion (finely chopped)

- 2 cloves of garlic (finely chopped)

- 1 tomato (finely chopped)

- 1 teaspoon red chili powder

- 1 teaspoon Turkish spice blend

- Salt to taste

Instructions:

1 .Start by rinsing the basmati rice and soaking it in water for about 15-20 minutes. After soaking, drain the rice.

2. In a large pan, heat the oil. oil is hot, add the chopped onion and garlic. Sauté them until they turn slightly golden.

3. Now, add the chopped tomato to the pan and cook until the tomatoes are tender.

4. Once the tomatoes are cooked, add the red chili powder, Turkish spice blend, and salt. Mix well to combine the spices with the other ingredients.

5. Add the drained basmati rice to the pan and sauté it for a couple of minutes, ensuring that the rice grains are coated with the spices.

6. Pour in the water and bring it to a boil. Once it starts boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the pan with a tight-fitting lid, and let the rice cook for about 15-20 minutes or until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed.

7. Once the rice is cooked, remove the pan from heat and let it sit covered for 5 minutes to allow the steam to settle.

8. It's now ready to be enjoyed as a delicious Turkish rice dish.

Tips

Soaking the rice helps to achieve fluffy and separate grains. It also reduces the cooking time.

Use a heavy-bottomed pan with a tight-fitting lid to ensure even heat distribution and prevent the rice from sticking or burning.Y
